Facebook video downloader: save videos and Reels in HD

Facebook doesn't offer a built-in download button, so the usual workaround is screen recording — which quietly wrecks the quality. VidFrom's Facebook video downloader skips that: tap Share on the video. Choose Copy link, then paste it in the box above. You'll get the file back in SD or HD, matching whatever quality the original was uploaded in.

What works with this tool

  • Videos posted on public profiles and Pages.
  • Facebook Reels, saved the same way as regular videos.
  • Videos shared inside public groups.
  • Live streams, once the broadcast has ended and the replay is available.

Getting the link on phone and desktop

In the Facebook app, tap the three dots on a video, then Copy link. On desktop, right-click the video or use the same Share menu to copy the URL. Either link works here — paste it, press Download, and choose the resolution you want from the results.

Copyright and fair use

Only public videos can be processed, which also protects the privacy of anyone who posts privately. Save videos for your own archive or offline viewing. Check with the original poster before reusing their footage anywhere public — the content still belongs to whoever uploaded it.

Tips for the best result

Facebook sometimes serves different quality levels depending on your connection when the video was viewed. So if the first result looks lower-resolution than expected, try copying the link again from a fresh page load. Videos inside Stories aren't supported here since they're designed to expire and aren't part of the regular video catalog.

Is it safe to use?

VidFrom never asks for your Facebook login — it only needs the public link you paste in. That link isn't stored once the download finishes. This matters because Facebook is one of the more common targets for scam "downloader". Browser extensions that ask for account access; a legitimate tool never needs that.

Facebook Watch and Marketplace videos

Longer videos published through Facebook Watch download the same way as regular posts — copy. The link from the video's own Share menu rather than the Watch tab's main URL. Videos attached to Marketplace listings generally aren't supported. Since they're tied to the listing rather than treated as a standalone public post.

Understanding SD versus HD results

When a video was originally uploaded in HD, that's the quality you'll get back; when the uploader only had SD available —. Common with older posts or videos shared from a slow connection — that's the ceiling regardless of your own internet speed. The downloader always returns the best version Facebook currently has stored. It just can't create quality that was never uploaded in the first place.

Videos shared in Messenger

A Facebook video link shared through Messenger works the same as one copied from the main app. Since it's the same underlying video, just forwarded through a different surface. Paste it exactly as received; there's no need to open it in the main Facebook app first.
